Katie Ledecky ties Michael Phelps’ world championship record

Ledecky, 26, won her 15th individual World Championship title in Fukuoka, Japan. In doing so, she equaled the record of Michael Phelps. “Just never really imagined I would be in this position,” said Ledecky at a press conference after her 1,500-meter freestyle win. “It’s always an honor to win a medal for Team USA, especially gold. Just going to keep going and continue to do my best every time I race.”
