Ryan Giggs cleared of assault charges

Manchester United legend, Ryan Giggs, was set to undergo a re-trial for alleged assault against his ex-girlfriend and her sister. The initial hearing was scheduled for later in July. After over 20 hours of deliberations during his four-week trial in August of the previous year, the jurors were unable to reach a verdict. However, the Crown Prosecution Service ultimately decided to withdraw the charges, resulting in Giggs being fully acquitted of all allegations.
