Samuel Eto’o accused of match-fixing

As per L’Equipe’s report, the former Cameroonian international and current president of the Football Association has been linked to match-fixing allegations. It is claimed that he made a promise to promote a club to the first division in Cameroon. In an audio recording, Eto’o is purportedly heard making this commitment to a club named Victoria United, which was struggling at the bottom of the league table at the time the recording was made. Interestingly, several months later, the club suddenly rose to the top of the league table, raising suspicions surrounding the promotion.
