Spanish football legend Luis Suárez Miramontes dead at 88

Luis Suárez Miramontes made history as the first Spanish player to claim the prestigious Ballon d’Or award. Regarded as one of Barcelona’s legendary figures, Miramontes became part of the club in 1955. During his time there, he showcased his immense talent in 253 appearances, netting an impressive 141 goals and securing two La Liga titles and two Spanish Cups. In 1961, he embarked on a new chapter with Inter Milan, where he remained for the next nine years, earning two European Cups and leaving an indelible mark on the club.
